A Real Gift Card, Not a Coupon Workaround
A gift card is prepaid stored value with a balance. A coupon is a discount. GiftRocketWP keeps gift cards in their own tables so your SureCart coupons stay separate.
Coupons used as gift cards

No real balance: a coupon is a discount, so it does not track what is left on a card across several orders.

Three Dedicated Database Tables
Cards, ledger entries and logs are stored in their own tables, so gift card data does not mix with your SureCart products or coupons.
Holds each gift card: its code, starting value, remaining balance, buyer and recipient details, design and status (Active, Used, Expired, Disabled).
An append-only record of every balance change. Each entry has an event type (such as issuance, redemption, manual_adjustment or revoked), the amount, the balance before and after, the SureCart order ID and the user who made the change.
A log of security and admin events, with the card code, the user, the IP address and a short description for each event.

A Separate Gift Card Field at Checkout
The gift card field sits next to SureCart's coupon field, so customers never mix up a discount code and a gift card. A badge shows the balance once a card is applied.
The customer enters the code
The code goes into the gift card field. The plugin checks the card and shows its remaining balance.
A temporary discount covers the amount
To tell SureCart how much to deduct, the plugin creates a temporary discount for that amount only.
The temporary discount is removed
When the order is confirmed, or the buyer removes the card, the plugin deletes the temporary discount from SureCart.
The balance and ledger are updated
The card balance goes down and a ledger entry is added. Anything left stays on the card for the next order.
What GiftRocketWP Does in SureCart
The list follows the plugin's WordPress.org listing for version 1.1.0. Wallet passes need an ePasscard account, which is free for up to 50 live passes and paid after that.
Balances in dedicated tables
Balances, partial deductions and transactions are kept in three custom tables (wp_giftrocketsure_cards, wp_giftrocketsure_ledger, wp_giftrocketsure_logs).
Append-only ledger
Issuances, checkout redemptions, manual adjustments and refund restorations are recorded with the balance before and after.
Clean coupons list
Temporary checkout discounts are deleted when the order is confirmed or the card is removed, so SureCart > Coupons does not fill up with gift card coupons.
Separate checkout field
A "🎁 Have a gift card?" field next to the coupon form, so customers can tell a discount from a gift card. A badge shows the remaining balance.
Partial balances
If the order is smaller than the balance, the rest stays on the card. If it is larger, the customer pays the difference with another payment method.
Setup inside SureCart products
Set up gift cards in SureCart > Products: choose the product type, preset amounts, expiry period, email scheduling and disclaimer text.
No shortcode for products
Mark a SureCart product as a gift card and its page loads the customizer automatically.
Live card preview
The preview updates as the customer chooses a design and amount and writes a message.
Occasion designs and image upload
Designs for Father's Day, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, birthdays and general occasions. Buyers can upload their own image and crop it (zoom, rotate, reposition).
Instant or scheduled delivery
Send right after payment or on a date and time the buyer picks. Scheduled cards use exact-minute WP-Cron events with a 5-minute queue as a safety net. WP-Cron runs when your site gets visits, so timing depends on traffic.
Protection against double use
The plugin locks the card row (SELECT ... FOR UPDATE) while it deducts a balance, so two checkouts cannot spend the same balance at once.
Refunds and cancellations
Spent balances go back to the card when an order paid with it is refunded or cancelled. A card is voided if the charge that bought it is revoked.
Apple & Google Wallet passes
New in 1.1.0. Passes are created through ePasscard with your own API key. ePasscard is free for up to 50 live passes, then paid.

General, Form and Email settings sit in separate tabs, and each tab has its own link.
CSV import and liability export
Import existing gift cards from a CSV file (up to 5,000 rows) and export a CSV of outstanding balances.
Pass designer with phone preview
Pick the pass type, colours, logo and banner image and check the result in a phone mockup. Use one store-wide template or a different one per product.

From Install to First Gift Card
GiftRocketWP works inside SureCart, so you set up gift cards on the product screen you already use.
Install the free plugin
Search "GiftRocket" under Plugins > Add New, or upload the ZIP. SureCart must be installed and active.
Edit a SureCart product
Open a product in SureCart > Products and choose the gift card option in the editor.
Set amounts and delivery
Set preset amounts, the expiry period and email scheduling. If you use ePasscard, add a wallet pass template.
Start selling
Open the product page. The customizer, the live preview and the gift card field at checkout are ready.
