7.1 Refunds on Orders Paid with a Gift Card

When you refund an order that was paid with a gift card, GiftRocket puts the money back on the card automatically.

How It Works

1. Refund the order in SureCart → Orders as usual.
2. GiftRocket adds the refunded amount back to the gift card, up to the amount the card paid on that order.
3. The card becomes Active again if it had been used up.

For example, a customer pays $40 of an order with a gift card. You refund $25. The card gets $25 back. If you later refund the remaining $15, the card gets that too, but never more than the $40 it paid.

Note: Every restore appears in the card’s history as Refund Restored (see 5.3). Refunding the same order twice never adds the money back twice.
