7.3 Refunding a Gift Card Purchase

If a customer bought a gift card and you take the purchase back, the card stops working.

How It Works

• When SureCart revokes the purchase of a gift card product, GiftRocket sets that card to Disabled.
• A disabled card can’t be used at checkout and its history shows Voided.

If You Only Refund the Money

Refunding the payment in SureCart doesn’t always revoke the purchase. To make sure the card can’t be used, disable it yourself:

1. Go to GiftRocket → Dashboard and find the card.
2. Click the pencil icon and set Card Status to Disabled / Voided.
3. Click Update Gift Card.

Note: Check the card’s history first. If part of the balance was already spent, you may want to refund only the unused amount.
