Gift cards don’t need to be used all at once. Whatever isn’t spent stays on the card for the next order.
How Partial Balances Work
- The card is worth less than the order: the full balance is used and the customer pays the rest with their normal payment method.
- The card is worth more than the order: only the order total is taken. The rest stays on the card.
- The balance reaches zero: the card’s status changes to Used.
For example, a $100 card used on a $40 order leaves $60 on the card. The customer can use the same code again on a later order.
Where to See the Balance
- Customers can check their remaining balance on your balance check page (see 4.3).
- You can see every card’s balance and full history under GiftRocket → Dashboard (see 5.1 and 5.3).
